Healing Your Gut For Fertility

Gut health

Our gut health has many implications on our overall health and one example is keeping our hormones balanced and inflammation at bay.

If our gut isn’t functioning optimally it can have a huge impact on many factors and one of those being fertility in men and women.

Understanding your gut-hormone connection is important to know how  your gut health could potentially affect your hormones and fertility.

If you are thinking to yourself “I don’t have any symptoms, my gut is fine”, that may not be 100% true.

Sometimes you may not recognize that your digestive tract is having issues, which means you could have no idea your microbiome is imbalanced and causing other issues.

The good news is whether you have symptoms or not, your gut can be repaired and healed.

Clean up your diet:

  • When it comes to your diet, keep inflammatory and processed foods to a minimum.
  • Introduce more low-glycemic and nutrient dense whole foods. Have fun trying new recipes full of vitamins and antioxidants!
  • If you feel like you have intolerances to certain foods, you can try an elimination diet with a health coach. This can help you determine which foods are causing discomfort and gut issues.

Take the right supplements:

  • There are certain supplements that can be helpful in reinoculating and repairing your microbiome and intestinal permeability. I like to recommend specific supplements on a client by client basis as we all have unique bioindividual needs.

Environment & Lifestyle:

  • Keep your environment toxin free as much as possible.
  • Some medications are known to negatively affect your gut microbiome and can cause all sorts of issues.
  • Keep your stress levels low and keep your insulin levels balanced.
  • Start practicing daily meditation and movement to keep your mind positive and your energy youthful.

Our reproductive health is influenced by our microbiome which is why it is critical to keep our gut health in pristine condition.
